Friends! I am raising funds for a women's skilling program in New Delhi, India. We are planning on training 100 women over the next 12 months in job skills.

The women chose the courses: tailoring and beauty culture. That was their choice. These women are housewives, they live in a very underserved area of the city, and they want skills that will help them set up small home-based businesses. They come from very traditional backgrounds and are usually not allowed to venture out of their homes.

The total cost is $5,000. That will cover the salary of the trainers and the rent of the facility for a year. I have applied for a separate grant to cover the cost of sewing machines and other materials. Someone already gave me $250, so I am looking for $4,750.

These women are amazing. They are strong, determined, and ambitious. Right now, they are learning to read and write. That is the program I volunteer with regularly while I live in Delhi. I will personally make sure the money goes to the women.
