<div>Hey everyone! My name is Gabe and I have Spina Bifida, which means I've been paralyzed from the waist down since birth. Two years ago, my wife and I bought a beautiful house on 1.5 acres. I quickly realized my regular wheelchair just won't cut it to get around the property. The Pride Mobility, Baja Wrangler 2 (AKA Not your granny's mobility scooter), is a beast of an off-road scooter and would help me get around outside. The only problem? They are around $7,000. I decided to start making TikTok videos where I do an increasing number of wheelies per day and post the video until I have enough money to buy the scooter. I have been asked in the comments of those videos to create a GoFundMe. I am truly blown away just in the last two days with the generosity and excitement complete strangers are showing me. I truly believe in "Do unto others as you would have done unto you," and I promise to pay this forward in every way possible. Thank you!

<div>Taj was born June 30th, 2017. Upon birth, he was 26 weeks premature. Taj spent 116 days in the NCIU and endured a series of medical procedures, including an intense eye surgery when he was only 2 days old. His lungs were underdeveloped, but he remained strong until he came home. When he came home, he was able to crawl, talk and meet all the other milestones that would be expected of a baby. Taj became very close to his two brothers and sisters. He loved “Sonic”, the Hedgehog and would always try to be one of the characters in that show. Taj quickly learned how to read and became proficient in reading. His reading level exceeded the typical person’s reading level his age. On February 29th,2024, Taj received the “Tony B Mason” award for reading on a second-grade reading level while only being in kindergarten.  He brought an immense amount of joy to everyone that met him.

<div>On March 2nd, 2024, Taj began complaining of pain in his abdomen and was having a hard time breathing. Mom gave him his breathing machine and after a while started CPR as he went unresponsive. Mom continued CPR until paramedics arrived. When the paramedics arrived to take him to the hospital, he had a massive asthma attack. During this process, Taj went almost 45 minutes without oxygen and an hour without a heartbeat. The family was told the very sad news that Taj would not survive after such complications. It is very unlikely to be placed in an unfortunate situation like this. Being forced to bid farewell to a six-year-old child is very devastating. Who would ever think this would be someone’s reality?

<div>I was born with Usher's Syndrome Type 2A. This means I was born hard-of-hearing, and during my teens, I began losing my sight to a condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP).

<div>It's a progressive disease.

<li>First, my night vision went. Movies, restaurants, and campfires became a challenge.
</li>
<li>Then, my peripheral vision started to go. Driving, playing soccer, and riding a bike became impossible.

<li>Now, my light sensitivity is going. Using a computer, navigating during the day, or even seeing facial expressions is incredibly difficult.
</li>
</ul>
<div>I am projected to be completely blind by 45. For my entire life, there has been no cure.

<div>After years of tracking clinical trials, a breakthrough has been made. A company called Ocugen developed a gene therapy called OCU400. Through Phase 1 and 2 trials, it has had a 100% success rate in stopping and even reversing vision loss from RP.
