<div>In Sofia, Bulgaria, the municipal dog shelter is overcrowded and underfunded. Sick and injured dogs often go without proper treatment or warmth. Volunteers do their best, but the system is failing these animals.

<div>Paws &amp; Hearts rescues the most urgent cases from the shelter, gets them immediate veterinary care, and places them in safe foster homes — until they recover and find a loving family.

<div>Across Bulgaria’s abandoned villages, many elderly people live entirely alone on tiny pensions. They have no family, no visitors — and no companionship.

<div>We carefully match rescued dogs with lonely seniors who love animals. We cover all costs (food, vet care, medicines) and provide a small monthly allowance as a thank-you for giving the animal a home and love.
