My name is Christina, and I’m reaching out because my life has been turned upside down. After surviving domestic violence from my husband, I lost my daycare license—a job I poured my heart into for over eleven years. That loss led to my home going into foreclosure, and now I’m struggling to find stability for myself and my dog. I’ve tried to get help through Medicaid and financial housing assistance, but I was turned down. The only support I receive is $25 a month in SNAP benefits, which barely covers anything. I’m asking for help to cover basic needs like housing, paying bills, food for myself and my dog, and medical bills from my time in the hospital. Every bit of support will help me rebuild and find a safe place to call home again. I’ve always tried to help others, even in small ways—like giving a reusable bag to someone on the bus. My daddy used to say life is a bumpy road with a couple of smooth spots, and he was right. I never imagined I’d be in this situation, but I’m doing my best to keep going. If you’re able to help, I appreciate it more than words can say. Please never take life for granted—enjoy what you have, and keep being the best person you can. Thank you for your kindness, and may God bless you for your generosity.
I never imagined I would be in this situation, but life has taken some unexpected turns. Years ago, I worked for Walt Disney Feature Animation in California, painting movies and loving my job. When the company laid off 2,000 of us, my family moved to Colorado for a fresh start. Things were good for a while, but my husband struggled with alcoholism and eventually chose the bottle over his family. It hurt deeply, and I had to make the difficult decision to ask him to leave for the sake of my kids. Unfortunately, he returned and committed domestic violence, which led the state to take away my daycare license. I lost my five-bedroom house to foreclosure and have been fighting to survive ever since. I worked at a hotel and then at assisted living, which I loved, but was let go for being 'too nice.' I moved into an apartment, and my boyfriend helped pay the rent, though I never felt comfortable relying on him. Sadly, he passed away, and now I don't make enough to keep the apartment. I'm currently facing eviction, but the management is buying me some time. My son has my dog, who is my emotional support animal, and I hope to be reunited with him soon. The funds from this fundraiser will help me secure a new apartment, cover basic needs like food and utilities, and hopefully bring my dog home. Every bit of support will help me rebuild and find stability. Any support means the world to me right now. I never thought I would be in this situation, but your kindness can help me start over and find hope again.
My name is Christina, and I am reaching out for help during the hardest time of my life. In just a few months, I have lost my last cousin, my baby sister, my first father-in-law, a beloved pet, and most recently, my boyfriend of 14 years. The grief and heartbreak have been overwhelming, and on top of that, I am struggling to find work because employers don’t want to hire someone who is 63 years old. I’ve been in the hospital twice recently without insurance, and I am facing medical bills I can’t afford. My Social Security is barely enough to cover basic needs, and now I am being kicked out of my apartment with nowhere else to go. The fear of becoming homeless is terrifying, especially after always trying to help others and being responsible throughout my life. I am asking for support to help me stay in my apartment for at least a couple more weeks while I search for a safe place to live. The funds will go toward rent, medical bills, and utilities, so I don’t lose everything. I’ve never been through anything like this before, and it breaks my heart to ask for help. I am also hoping to find a two-bedroom place so my oldest son, who has disabilities, can move back in with me. He doesn’t like the group home he’s in, and I want to give him a safe and comfortable space. Because my husband passed away, I receive survivors benefits, which is why I am looking for low income housing. Thank you so very much for being there and for any support you can offer. I am scared, but your kindness gives me hope to get through these next couple of months.
