Even the small stuff stays with her: a little note to show you she's still making that soup recipe you shared with her years ago, a job interview mentioned once in passing, your latest update on the guy you're dating. Following up long after everyone else has moved on, checking in without being asked, finding a way to loop you back in even when it would have been easier not to. None of it ever feels like effort. It's simply her style - an openness that asks nothing in return, a way of loving big without conditions or invisible tallies kept. Just a restless love for being alive, and an instinct to pull the people she loves along for the ride. Ask anyone who's known her more than a few minutes, and they'll tell you the same.

<div>Years of showing up this way - as a friend, a colleague, a wife, a mother - have made her someone many people lean on, though it has never seemed to occur to her that the reverse might be true as well. So when the worst news of her life arrived, she wasn't sure how to move forward, let alone how to tell anyone. Saying it out loud, sharing it beyond her closest circle, made it feel more real in a way she wasn't ready for. It took some convincing just to put this page together — she was hesitant, unsure whether she wanted any of it shared at all, and quietly kept it to herself instead, so no one else would have to carry the worry with her. It was a reluctance consistent with everything else about her: taking help has never come naturally, even though giving it always has.

<div>Her world turned upside down the moment she heard the words "Stage III, Triple Negative Breast Cancer": a rare and aggressive subtype that only shows up in 10 to 15 percent of cases. Treatment meant weekly eight-hour chemotherapy infusions, immunotherapy, surgery, and radiation - layered with a continuous, unrelenting schedule of scans, bloodwork, procedures, and consults. In the first 2 months alone, she had 40 medical appointments, with little room to decide anything for herself.

<div>The side effects of treatment are significant, and they compound a strain that's already considerable - physical, mental, emotional, even spiritual, and harder to name than that. Some days, it's a fight just to get through them. And yet she's still working, still parenting their son, who turns 2 years old at the end of August, still showing up for the version of normal life she had before any of this. She and her husband, Zach, both work full time, but even 2 incomes aren't enough to cover it: out-of-pocket costs after insurance are estimated at around $20,000.

<div>Treatment is expected to continue through at least April 2027. This chapter of her story is going to be long, and it isn't going to be easy. This fund exists for one reason: to help make what's ahead a little more bearable. Contributions go directly toward the cost of her care, easing some of the financial weight so more of her energy - what little treatment leaves her - can go toward healing, and toward her family, the two things she deserves most right now.

<div>Back in November, Alison went to the hospital after experiencing breathing difficulties following

<div>more serious. Doctors discovered that she has liver disease, and in the weeks that followed, it

<div>became clear that she would need a liver transplant.

</div>

<div>After months of being in and out of the hospital for countless tests and procedures, and being

<div>prescribed what feels like an alphabet of different medications, doctors discovered that her heart

</div>

<div>is not strong enough to withstand the liver transplant surgery alone. Although she is able to hold

</div>

<div>down a position with her job that is work from home at this time, during all of the hospital stays

</div>

<div>and testing, Alison was not able to work, and following surgery, she will face a long road to

</div>

<div>recovery with continued inability to work.

<div>In order to replace her liver, doctors have determined that she will also need a heart transplant

<div>at the same time. At this time, the doctors at Johns Hopkins are still determining the best path

<div>forward, and Alison is waiting to be placed on the transplant lists. Once she is listed, the call for

<div>surgery could come at any moment.

<div>As you can imagine, this has been overwhelming in every possible way—physically, emotionally,

<div>and financially. The road ahead will include ongoing medical care, transplant procedures,

<div>Danena. Just to hear the name in a conversation makes you proud to say I know him; he is a friend. Because knowing him made him a friend. He is that kind of person. If you talked, he listened. And he did not just listen, he heard you. And if you had a problem, he would offer whatever assistance he could provide.

<div>Many of us know him as the man that would greet you when you entered Loonies, Dead Freddies, The Barn, Greene Turtle or Sinix. His size and no-nonsense demeanor could intimidate you when you first saw him. But you would quickly learn that he was kind, caring and polite. A friend you were happy to introduce to your parents.
</div>
<div>He grew up in Randallstown, Md. Joined the Marines. Then worked at Pabst Enterprises and Bond Distributers. And left a trail of friendships that he still enjoys today.
</div>
<div>The only time Danena could be considered dangerous is during Football season. An avid fan of the sport, he prefers College Football, and Florida State University is his team. When he is watching the game, it is best to keep a safe distance. He can often become very animated and loud.
</div>
<div>And he always has your back. If you need a ride, he is there. If you have a situation, he will help. No hesitation, no complaints, no excuses. He always showed up.
</div>
<div>Danena has always worked. The jobs might change, but he kept working. He believed in being employed. He has always been both physically and mentally, strong, energetic, and productive. Lately though, that has become a problem.
</div>
<div>His health problems have multiplied and are taking a toll on his body. He now goes to Dialysis three times a week for several hours a day. To add to it, his heart is giving out on him. He is now a candidate for a heart transplant.
</div>
<div>These conditions and hospitalizations have caused Danena to lose days and weeks of work. Between medical expenses and the loss of income due to addressing his medical needs. This has placed him in a crisis with his financial situation. HE NEEDS OUR HELP.

How many of us would be able to take a hit like that and still be able to pay our bills? Well my friends and colleagues are taking that hit right now.

<div>Irish Charities of Maryland is a 501(c)(3) non profit charitiy whose focus is to further promotion of traditional Irish and Irish American arts, culture and history. We promote and run the Maryland Irish Festival in November, in which we use the funds to support more than 32 charities including Md. Special Olympics and the Little Sisters of the Poor. We are coming up on our 49th Annual Festival, however, we are in financial jeopary which may mean that there will be no festival for our 49th year.

<div>Covid year was a year without a festival or any fundraising opportunities with which to assist us in paying our bills for things such as storage, insurance and many other fees that we incur. Last year, the weather dampened the festival attendance and that on top of covid, put us in real financial difficulty.

Dear friends and family, Our beloved Zoe, a 13 yr old girl, has recently been diagnosed with an Osteosarcoma of her left tibia. As you can imagine, this news has been devastating for Zoe and her family. We know Zoe is a fighter, and she is ready to face her battle with strength and determination. Zoe and her family will be traveling from their home in South Missouri to Kansas City's, Children's Mercy Hospital for treatment. Zoe will at times have multiple appointments per week and it is possible that she will have to stay overnight. We imagine, the cost associated with travel and missing work will only add to the stress on her family. We are writing to ask for your help. The cost of Zoe's treatment and related expenses is anticipated to be very high and they simply cannot cover everything on their own. Zoe’s Cancer Journey

Hello everyone. My name is Buz Chmielewski. I'm not used to asking for help, I'm usually the one trying to help others. But, I'll try to explain what's going on. 

For those of you who don't know me - when I was 17 I had a diving accident at Ocean City, Maryland. I suffered a C6 incomplete spinal cord injury 34 years ago. I never let this slow me down. I graduated high school, learned how to drive with hand controls, went on to be competitive in several handicap sports, and have been working for the better part of 25 plus years to help other people with injuries like mine to live better lives.

Because of some physical setbacks after a research program I was involved with where I had micro chips implanted on my brain to where I was able to control robotic arms and hands with my thoughts. I have not been able to work as much as I used to before the surgery. I'm making do, but when the old van finally gave out and is unrepairable I've been basically stuck at home since. I still try to give back as much and as often as I can. Currently I am active in helping to educate Physical Therapy students at University of Baltimore and Occupational Therapy students at Towson University. I'm also serving as a peer mentor for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation’s Peer and Family Support Program. I’m also a peer mentor at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute, formally known as Kernan. 

Being part of these programs, I have the privilege and honor of meeting, newly injured patients, as well as, their family and friends and am able to give valuable insight on life after a traumatic injury. By demonstrating that this situation isn’t the end, but can actually be the beginning of a new and wonderful lifestyle. I don’t know who gets more out of it, them or me? The more I see a positive change in attitude and drive, the more it pushes, motivates and inspires me and others to not give up and to push on.

Doing this kind of work "remotely" just isn't the same as face-to-face.  I'm eager to get back on the road. I am asking for your help and support, in any amount that you are able, so that I can get an accessible van equipped with the things I need to get back to doing my part in trying to make this world a better place.

<div> I’ve never been one to ask you for anything other than your support. Supporting me and the band is something you have been doing an amazing job of for over a decade now.  Some of you have been with us since our very first show at Pop’s Tavern in Sparrows Point, cheering us on to this day. We are eternally grateful for that… I am eternally grateful for that. Many of you were there when we were having some of the best years of our lives, traveling the country, visiting different states and radio stations that were playing our songs. You were there when we had two songs from our first album go top 40 on the charts. You were with us on every trip to nashville… cheering us on. We saw it, and we loved you for it.

Many of you were there when we came off of the success of the two top 40’s on Music Row and went into the studio to begin work on our second album with even higher hopes and aspirations than we had the first go around. There were talks of a joint venture with a major label, shows in Australia, being in the running for Music Row independent artist of the year….. and even…. The Opry within a year’s time.

I was so excited.

Well, none of that ended up happening. 

I’ve never been public about why it didn’t happen, but while we were in the studio, and the wheels were already in motion,  a large money investor had to back out at the last minute. I don’t really know why, but I know they had their reasons, and I certainly don’t hold it against them. However, it stopped my career in its tracks. We had to liquidate all the money from our original investment group and our own personal accounts just to pay for what we had already done in the studio. And then… the album went on the shelf. It stayed there for almost 4 years. That is, until earlier this year when I was contacted by the Label head at Bar Frog Music who told me that if I could manage to get to nashville we would cut the vocals that we left unfinished back in 2018.

I am so grateful for them for that. 

Now we need to do the rest. Which is why I’m telling you all of this. Friends, we need your help. Even with every favor we can call in down in Nashville, to finally finish this album will take about 10k to do right. Over the last four years I’ve had people try to get me to set up a Go Fund Me to do this. I’ve always been against it. I’ve never felt good asking people for help, and frankly, I’m not really sure how I feel about it now, but after cutting the vocals a couple of weeks ago and listening to these tracks again, I know now, more than ever, that I want to get this album out to all of you. I’m so damned proud of the work we’ve done so far. I refuse to let it die on a shelf in some hard drive somewhere. 

So I humbly ask you for your help. If you can donate, please do. If you can’t, at least share the link with your friends. I don’t know what the outcome will be of us finishing this album. Maybe it’ll just be a way to close a chapter, or maybe it will be the first step in attracting the right people to give it one last shot.

Help Us Finish Our 2nd Album!

<div>On July 23rd, everything changed. Will was getting ready for a gig in the afternoon and started to not "feel right." He came downstairs, and it was apparent he needed to get to the hospital fast. At 4 pm, he suffered his first of two strokes in less than 24 hours. He was admitted to observation as most of his symptoms had resolved. I was able to go home, get some rest and figured I would be picking him up the next day after further testing and medication management.

<div>On July 24th, at 8:30 am, Will called me, and I could not understand anything he was saying other than "ICU" and "tpa". He had his second stroke at 3:30 am, which paralyzed his left side, and he could not speak clearly or without extreme difficulty. The next week in the ICU was tough, although he kept making progress.
</div>

<div>On August 1st, he was sent to an inpatient Acute Rehab facility, where he worked so hard every day to complete PT, OT, and Speech Therapy for over two weeks. He came home on August 18th, able to speak and walk with minimal assistance, but his left arm and hand still have limitations. He continues to go to outpatient rehab, making strides weekly.

<div>Unfortunately, Will cannot work due to his condition, and the medical bills are piling up. Any funds received will go directly to Will's medical bills, rehabilitation, and assist him while he is out of work.

Hey everyone, some of you have heard but most have not but our beloved friend, Theon, got sucker punched monday morning around 2am.  He was walking  down Thames Street when someone hit him from behind.  He has alot of brain bruising and some skull fractures. He's doing ok, he can nod his head to answer questions but can't speak because of the tubes in his throat.  He will be in the hospital for some time, fingers crossed, he wont need surgery. He's currently in the neuro critical care unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  We all know an extended stay in a hospital isnt cheap or even just the ambulance ride, so let's see what we can do for our good friend!

On Thursday, August 1st, I appeared before the Judge on a Violation of Probation. This was brought forth by me not meeting the exact restitution payments of $197/mth. since Nov. 2018. Although I made payments just not to the full amount.....the Judge has decided to send me back to jail.<br /><br />    Since my release, I have had 22 surgical procedures by 5 different Doctors. So you can imagine the time I've had to take to convalesce, and in many cases, I was ordered by the Doctor...No Work. All of the surgeries are documented officially from the Doctor's involved. Those documents were presented to the Judge. In November of 2018, I had a bone removed from my wrist area, that also require a flexor tendon to be removed and inserted into the area void of where the bone occupied. Recently, after experiencing unusual swelling and pain, the Doctor again ordered me not to work and again issued Notification to be under his care until 7/2020. I received $195 disability and $185 food Assistance...that's it...that's what I've had to live on...I have to take 20 pills a day, so prescriptions come out of that money. <br /><br />   Even though I was told not to work I tried and tried again to become gainfully employed, online applications resume sent, in-person filling out long applications only to be denied and turned away. I did, however, find employment from 8 different business's only to have the offer withdraw due to the nature of my incarceration. I presented those documents on letterhead from the employer. I explained to the Judge I can't give what I can't get. I have borrowed money from friends 5x since Nov. 2018 for $15 to buy a money order and send a $10 payment to make a restitution payment. Paying something to show i made an effort. The Judge decision show any act of compassion due to the nature of my surgeries and their impact on me physically. My health should be the prerequisite to get employed and stay employed.<br /><br />   At sentencing in 2015, I was also required to pay restitution of over $10k, I have paid over $3000 not working. The order was for the restitution to be paid in three years, yet I am here in two years. My outstanding balance is $5960 plus fees to bring to a total of $7500. Anything extra would be a huge help just for day to day existence nothing else.  <br /><br />   Now, I am asking for something  I have never done because I never ask friends for money. I need your help and I need it quickly in any amount you can spare.....I am to turn myself in on August 16th for Jail. Please help me avoid this.....and help me pay off this restitution owed to this so-called victim who came into my house and attacked me in my home. a 4x Felon and Motorcycle Gang member btw.<br /><br /> I wouldn't ask if I wasn't desperate....I need your help in any amount so that I can reach this goal by Thursday or Friday of this coming week. So that I can have another hearing and present this to the Judge otherwise I'm going back to jail.
