I'm Laura. As Richard's younger sister, I looked up to him for a lot of things. He challenged me to always do better, push myself, maintain my health, and try new adventures and food. He was our family mascot and always encouraged my entire extended family to share updates on our daily lives, and get together whenever they were in town. Richard has left a large emptiness in all our lives, but together with our friends and loved ones, we will make sure that his memory stays alive, especially for his wife, Nancy, and kids, Calvin and Ashley. Please join me on this quest to provide financial stability to their newly uprooted lives. On behalf of the family, there are no words to describe our appreciation and gratitude for everyone's support and encouragement during this difficult time.

Celebrating the RICH life..... (#liveloveRICH)
Richard was a lover of everything in life, (Yes, even meat - BUT in moderation and only on special occasions). He pushed himself and those around him to be enjoy everything in life and to adopt a healthy lifestyle. He inspired many to embrace a plant-based diet and even walked up 22 flights of stairs to work, a life-style and career he was so passionate about.
On Father's Day, June 17th 2018, Richard went for an early morning jog, excited to spend a wonderful day with his wife and kids. As he returned, he suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to CMC-Main. Richard fought hard! He would never willingly choose to leave the perfect life that he and Nancy had built for their amazing children Calvin (age 11) and Ashley (age 7). Despite his best efforts, he was not able to come back to us passing away on July 7th, 2018.
Richard was only 41, their new adventures were just starting as they recently put down roots in Charlotte after living abroad in Australia for almost 6 years. Richard and Nancy had dreams of travelling the world and of watching their talented children entertain the masses. Ashley captures everyone's heart with her sweet words, playful demeanor and her signature back and scalp massages. Calvin is building his entertainment career after playing/singing at an open mic night, being accepted into a specialized performance arts school and soon to be starring in the Children's Theater Production of Matilda later in the year.
Please help us honor the life that Richard has built for his three loves: Nancy, Calvin, and Ashley. They were his everything. As the sole breadwinner in the household, their biggest need is to meet their daily living expenses, mortgage, upcoming medical expenses for Calvin and college savings for the kids future as Nancy rebuilds their life without Richard. Unfortunately, this event was so unexpected, Richard and Nancy have not gotten around to plan for this financially. We cannot express our gratitude enough for your generosity to alleviate any financial worries, so they can focus on mourning the loss of their soulmate and beloved father and to start rebuilding their new reality.
