(I am not raising money for myself, none of the money will be used by me)
Our senior's club, Lompoc Senior's Club, (501(c)(3) is raising money to start a thrift store with a disaster / hard times relief closet / agency. We have received $33,803 in grants to start it, but we are going to need a lot more money. ($20,200 to $38,768) We are having difficulty leasing a 3000 to 5000 sq ft building. So we could really use your help. Please help us. :-)

All funds will be used for renting the building, paying insurance, startup fees, rent & utility deposit, etc.
Also hire one full time manager, all others will be volunteers, until the thrift store is very large and very successful.)
Depending on how much room we have, we plan to have a very nice looking boutique up front, and a thrift store in the back. We plan to have a medical equipment store / loan closet, arts & crafts / homemade items store, space exploration / Lompoc Senior's Club memorabilia store, AVON store, bulk items store, baked items / snack store, Online shopping kiosk, a exercise room, pool, hot tub, family fun center, a volunteer break room / senior lounge, senior's club head quarters, etc..
We may open up the thrift store in a month, or two, or three months.

There is an old Office Depot building or a old hardware store building in town, it would be fantastic if we could get one of those buildings. :-)

We organize and finance resort type entertainment for local seniors, at the Dick Dewees Senior Center. (As of 30 Apr 2020 " 33 " events)

Entertainment like Hawaiian Luaus, Elvis Presley impersonator, Soft Rock, Country Western, & Jazz Band & singer concerts, Dancing, Pot Lucks, Door Prizes, Talent Shows, Magic Show, Holiday & Birthday Parties, Table Game Night, Pizza Night, Hot Dog Night, Candy Bar Bingo, Car Pool Day Excursions
(Events we have not done yet & would like to do in the near future.

The Lompoc Senior's Club Buddy system for home alone seniors.
Hopefully, the Lompoc Senior's Club is a means for seniors to be involved, and socialize with other seniors, especially seniors that can't get out much. If you know of a senior that spends too much time alone, why not reach out to them, become their friend. Invite them to go on a car pool excursion with our club, or invite them to one of our entertainment events. Let's make the Lompoc Senior's Club one that really cares about seniors that are home alone, etc. Our Facebook group could be a great source of connectivity for seniors. Unfortunately a lot of seniors aren't on facebook. We need to reach out to other seniors and somehow help them to get onto facebook, if they are willing. Please offer to teach them how to get on facebook or get someone else to teach them.
Annual Space Exposition / Museum Fundraiser. (Promoting space exploration & raising money for the Lompoc Senior's Club.)

Potluck Lunches on Week Day Holidays when the senior center is closed and there is no CAC lunch.
"Get Togethers" in the lobby of the Dick Dewees Senior Center twice a week to chat and eat candy.
Car pooling to entertainment events, especially out of town events. (as of 21 Oct 2018 " 17 " carpools)
A Lompoc Senior's club endowment fund. Please donate to our endowment fund. Also please make arrangements to donate when you write your will or assign a beneficiary to your life insurance. (as of 10 Jan 2019, $300)
As we pay rent for each event at the Dick Dewees Senior Center, we are contributing to the employment of college students.

The Lompoc Senior's Club has fundraisers and gets grants to finance the above entertainment. (as of 11 Jan 2021) (we have raised about $10,000 by having bake sales) (we have raised about $9,590 by having misc. fundraisers ) (we have applied for and received about $63,000 in grants)
The money is spent on party supplies, party food, office supplies, copies, posters, bands, singers, rent, gasoline, etc.
(No employees, everyone is a volunteer.)
The Lompoc's Senior Club has quarterly board meetings to plan events and fundraisers, etc. Please volunteer to be a board member. (as of Jan 2020, 11 board meetings) (postponed until the end of the pandemic)

Birthday greeting card volunteer group, mail out greeting cards to members, a few days before their birthday. If you would like to receive a greeting card, Please give us your mailing address. We have the greeting cards all we need is your mailing address.
RV for our club. We could go camping at Jalama Beach, or Oceano Beach, and use the RV for "Common Use Area" and use tents & cots for sleeping. Or we could loan the RV out to a " 50 + " family for local camping.
Provide scholarships to seniors with low financial resources that want to take dancing lessons, etc. from the City of Lompoc Recreation Division.
An "Entree Brigade", senior's who love to cook, cook entrees for seniors & other people experiencing disaster or hard times, etc.
Providing affordable ($3.00) tickets to local Plays & Concerts, etc. to seniors with low income monthly. (approx. $27 max limit per senior for about 30 to 40 seniors)
Quarterly "Make A Wish" for seniors. ($100 maximum limit).
