During my recent trip to Guatemala, I saw something that deeply touched my heart. Across from my grandmother’s house lives a family in a small home made of old wooden boards. They are a hardworking family with two daughters—an 11-year-old girl and an 18-month-old baby. The father works hard, but like many people in Guatemala who have limited educational opportunities, he struggles to find steady work and barely earns enough to feed his family.

Seeing the conditions they live in broke my heart, and I knew I wanted to do something to help. My goal is to raise enough money to build them a small, safe, and decent home where they can live with dignity and peace of mind.

This experience reminded me how fortunate many of us are to live in a country where we often have access to opportunities, shelter, and food. There are so many families around the world who face daily struggles just to survive and put food on the table.
