Dear Colleagues & Friends,

I am Mike Clarke Snr, a disabled veteran and the founder of the Veterans In Need resource website. I dedicated nearly 25 years of service to the British Army, during which I incurred several injuries, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I established this platform to support members of the Armed Forces community and their families, motivated by my own experiences in navigating the complexities of accessing essential support services.

The website, accessible at www.VeteransInNeed.org.uk, is recognised as a leading resource for veterans and their families across the United Kingdom. It provides essential assistance to both serving Armed Forces members and the broader community, distinguishing itself from other help websites by prioritising the needs of the military community rather than generating profit for its owners. Founded in 2016, Veterans In Need offers a comprehensive array of information, resources, and services tailored to the unique challenges faced by military veterans and their families. Additionally, it serves as a professional platform for businesses to connect with this community.

As our society has experienced an increase in requests for assistance—particularly following the closure of the Government's "Veterans Gateway" platform on 30 September 2024—our team of dedicated volunteers continually strives to ensure that the information provided on the website remains current and accurate.

I am currently seeking financial contributions to cover the annual costs and maintenance of the website. Over the past ten years, I have personally funded approximately £2,500 to support this initiative, including the costs incurred for the first four years and additional expenses for the upcoming year.

The website receives a significant number of daily visitors and addresses requests for assistance from a diverse array of individuals, not limited to the military community. We make every effort to assist all who reach out to us. Furthermore, we are committed to distributing any surplus funds to support various charities.

Your contribution, no matter how small, would greatly enhance our ability to continue providing these vital services to the military community and ensure that we can support the many veterans and their families who have served our country for years to come.
