Hi, I’m Josh Reeves BEM, founder of Reeves Disability Consultancy CIC. I’ve lived the barriers that disabled people face when trying to get into work and I’ve seen countless others lose opportunities because the right support simply wasn’t there in time.
Right now, the Government’s Access to Work scheme — which is meant to provide disabled people with essential workplace equipment — is facing huge delays of 9–14 months. More than 60,000 people are waiting, which means:
Job offers are being withdrawn.
Probation periods are being failed.
Talented people are being shut out of work.
That’s why we created Work Without Barriers.
We’re building the UK’s first rapid-access lending library of workplace equipment — so disabled people can borrow adapted chairs, captioning software, ergonomic keyboards, and other tools within days, not months. Alongside this, we’ll provide mentoring and training, making sure people not only get the kit but also the confidence to thrive in work.
This isn’t just about equipment. It’s about protecting careers, preserving dignity, and unlocking disabled talent that’s being wasted.
Why We Need Your Help
We’re raising £100,000 to launch our pilot in Wales and England. This will cover:
A small core team to run the library and mentoring. (Not For Salaries)
Buying and maintaining specialist equipment.
Providing training and support to disabled participants.
Building partnerships with employers and communities.
Every £15,500 raised supports one disabled person into sustained employment — a life-changing impact for them, their families, and their community.
