JOIN HASIDIC JEWS IN RAISING MONEY FOR A MAN FROM HAITI
An 89-year-old man just doesn't understand why there's so much tension and sadness in the air.
Our father, Rabbi Yisroel Gordon, is suffering from Alzheimer's and Gabriel Pierre is his aide. (Gabriel is shown here together with Rabbi Gordon.)
Gabriel has always treated my father with gentleness, calm and respect, despite my father's very challenging illness. Gabriel's warm smile greets us when we arrive, and when we leave he thanks us for coming. Every day he puts his own feelings and comfort aside, only focusing on what's best for our father, may he live and be well.
UNTIL CALAMITY STRUCK. Gabriel, a trusting soul, was tricked by scammers, and his entire life savings of $18,500 was stolen from him.
Gabriel has no way to replace his life savings. It took him over a decade to save it up, dollar by dollar, together with his wife, a nurse. They have a learning-disabled son, and Gabriel's elderly mother, in Haiti, is hoping for her son's annual visit.
My father's home is a sad place now. Gabriel can't even join our weddings, he is just too crushed. This sad story is destroying Gabriel and his family, and no lawyer will take this case which they feel is unwinnable.
We are trying to put together the money to put Gabriel back on his feet.
Thank you for joining!
