We Keep Us Safe: Urgent Aid for Day Laborers Targeted by ICE

When the Eaton Fire left a trail of destruction and a community in immense need, our immigrant day laborer neighbors stepped forward, risking their own safety to help Altadena and Pasadena heal. For months they've been on the front lines, clearing dangerous debris from our streets and removing toxic ash from homes at no cost to families. They’re literally rebuilding our community, often working six or even seven days a week in grueling conditions.

Our Neighbors, Our Heroes, Now Under Attack

These are the same friends and neighbors who continue to stand by us in our darkest hour. Now, they are being targeted and terrorized by ICE. Day laborers have already been apprehended from Pasadena without warrants, and workers are rightfully terrified of being snatched from their families and the lives they’ve built.

ICE's disturbing operations put essential workers in an impossible situation: risk leaving home for work and being abducted at random, or stay home and face the reality of being unable to pay their rent or feed their children. This is no choice at all.

Funds will go to the Pasadena Community Job Center, which is part of the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) and is a pillar of the local community. The Job Center will ensure the funds go directly to support day laborers and help protect them from ICE.
