(ENGLISH BELOW)

Bonjour,

Hi,
My name is Priscilla Adade. I am from Bénin, Togo, Ghana and Belgium, I’m an actress, producer, podcaster, daughter, sister, surfer, traveller and many other ways to define myself. But most importantly, I’m deeply convinced of the importance of raising our voices, all voices and especially those of women and men that are being silenced. I am well aware of the priviledge that I have within an industry that allows me to express myself and to have access to various media and tools to speak my truth.
I have been made aware of the situation in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for many years now, having friends that have been working there. But if you are not aware, here is a quick summary :

The DRC has been suffering for nearly 25 years, from violence and conflicts linked to the trafficking of minerals (gold, copper, cobalt...) used for the manufacturing of our mobile phones, computers and other technological devises. During this ongoing conflict a weapon of war has emerged: rape.
Women, children, babies and sometimes even men are raped, mutilated in a systemic way. In 1999, Dr. Mukwege, Nobel Peace Prize co-laureat 2018, founded the Hospital of Panzi. Since, more than 60.000 patients have been operated for deep physical wounds by the gynecological surgeon and his teams.

I realise that if this is the first time you hear about this conflict and what is happening to these women, men and babies, you could believe this to be incomprehensible, unimaginable, impossible… if only.

This is the reason why I will go to the Kivu regions in order to train survivors members of the Mouvement national des Survivantes de Violences Sexuelles en RDCongo

The training for the podcast "Voices of Panzi" aims at helping the survivors to share their stories, make their voices resonate nationally and internationally in order to further break the silence surrounding their lives and their experience.
Furthermore, this training will allow them to acquire technical and digital skills : from the concept to the recording, editing and broadcasting, they will be able to use this new digital media for therapeutic, educational and practical way.

We have designed a website for you to get all the informations on the project:

You can also follow us on Instagram: @voicesofpanzi

Thanks to your contribution to this crowdfunding, I will be able to:

1. Buy the material for the survivors: 2 laptops, 2 headphones, 2 microphone, a Modem and internet connection for 1 year.
2. Return ticket to Goma, visa fees, stay and food for one week.
3. If we get to collect more money, Wina, my assistant will be able to join the journey and assistant on the training.
