**URGENTE — SOLO QUEDAN 3 DÍAS PARA AYUDAR A CHRISTA MERTINS**

Hoy escribo como hija.

Mi mamá, **Christa Mertins, tiene 90 años** y en tres días debe salir del lugar donde está viviendo.

Mientras los abogados están interviniendo y determinarán lo que corresponda legalmente, hoy esa no puede ser nuestra prioridad.

**Nuestra prioridad es sacar a mi mamá de allí, ponerla a salvo y rescatar sus pertenencias.**

Mi mamá lleva aproximadamente dos meses prácticamente sin dormir, viviendo esta situación con angustia y aferrándose a la esperanza de que Dios le haga un milagro.

Y yo pienso algo muy sencillo:

**Quizás el milagro que ella está esperando somos nosotros.**

Me encuentro fuera del país por razones de trabajo y recuperándome de mi última hospitalización. No poder estar físicamente allí en este momento, cuando mi mamá más me necesita, me produce una enorme impotencia. Por eso estoy recurriendo a ustedes.

**NECESITAMOS AYUDA INMEDIATA PARA:**

• Coordinar y pagar una compañía de mudanza.

• Conseguir personas que puedan ayudar físicamente a empacar.

• Cajas para empacar sus pertenencias.

• Tape/cinta de empaque y marcadores Sharpie.

• Rentar temporalmente una bodega donde podamos guardar sus cosas.

• Trasladar sus pertenencias personales y de uso diario.

• Conseguir los recursos económicos necesarios para realizar todo esto **antes del día 13**.

Estaré abriendo un **GoFundMe** para quienes puedan colaborar desde cualquier lugar utilizando tarjeta de crédito. También estoy buscando una alternativa segura para quienes deseen enviar una remesa directamente para ayudarla.

No importa si alguien puede donar mucho o poco. No importa si lo que puede aportar son diez cajas, cinta adhesiva, unas horas para empacar, un vehículo, espacio de almacenamiento o simplemente compartir esta publicación.

Me duele profundamente preguntarme cómo **Christa Mertins, La Dama de la Danza, una mujer que dedicó su vida a sembrar danza, formar generaciones y aportar a la cultura de Guatemala**, puede encontrarse a los 90 años viviendo una situación así.

Por eso hago también un llamado público a quienes pueden intervenir y ayudar: **Sr. Neto Bran, Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes de Guatemala, ejecutivos, maestros, bailarines, exalumnos y alumnos del Ballet Nacional de Guatemala “Christa Mertins”, comunidad artística, amigos y todas las personas cuya vida haya sido tocada de alguna manera por mi mamá.**

**Hoy Christa los necesita.**

El día 13 necesito que podamos llegar por ella y por sus pertenencias esenciales.

Después habrá tiempo para determinar responsabilidades y resolver la situación legal.

**Hoy necesitamos proteger a una mujer de 90 años.**

Voy a compartir también capturas de lo que mi propia mamá escribió en Facebook. Por alguna razón, su publicación no aparece completa. Pero hay algo que sí puede sentirse en sus palabras: incluso a sus 90 años, en medio de esta angustia, **todavía conserva la esperanza de que Dios enviará ayuda.**

Mamá, espero que así sea.

Porque durante toda tu vida sembraste muchísimo en los demás.

**Ahora Guatemala tiene tres días para demostrarte que algunas de esas semillas florecieron.**

**Our priority is to get my mother out of there, to keep her safe, and to recover her belongings.**

My mother has been practically sleepless for about two months, living through this situation with anguish and clinging to the hope that God will perform a miracle for her.

And I think something very simple:

**Perhaps the miracle she is waiting for is us.**

I am currently out of the country for work and recovering from my last hospitalization. Not being able to be physically there at this moment, when my mother needs me most, fills me with immense helplessness. That's why I'm reaching out to you.

**WE NEED IMMEDIATE HELP TO:**

• Find people who can physically help with packing.

• Boxes to pack your belongings.

• Packing tape and Sharpie markers.

• Temporarily rent a storage unit where we can keep your things.

• Move your personal belongings and everyday items.

• Secure the necessary funds to do all of this **before the 13th**.

It deeply pains me to wonder how Christa Mertins, the Lady of Dance, a woman who dedicated her life to cultivating dance, training generations, and contributing to Guatemalan culture, can find herself in such a situation at 90 years old.
