Longwood fire: community-led bushfire recovery efforts

Donation protected
The recent Longwood fires in Victoria were just north of us, and I must have checked the VicEmergency app so many times — fearing for the towns we know and love, some of which have already been hit before, and watching the fires edge closer to us.

Around 150 homes were lost in the Longwood fires. That’s 150 families who've lost everything. As builders, we understand that losing a home isn’t just about the structure itself... it’s the grief of losing your sense of place, the disruption of displacement, and the long, complex process that follows: temporary accommodation, approvals, trades, insurance, and the emotional weight of starting again.

In the spirit of using platforms for good and rallying behind our regional communities, Sister Carpentry is raising funds to support those affected by the Longwood fires.

All funds raised will be donated to assist impacted families and community-led recovery efforts during this incredibly challenging time via the grassroots community fundraisers

Sister Carpentry is run by Sophie Moore, a local and carpenter to the Yarra Valley.
