After what has been the worst of weeks there have been numerous moments of hope. Neighbours coming together to prepare and protect property, our yellow angels in the CFA spending upwards of 30 hours straight fighting the fire from Ruffy all the way back to Alexandra. Many of us are being overwhelmed with messages from loved ones asking how to support. Many of us have lost everything. While the offer of clothes, food and water are appreciated and needed, at the end of the day the small community will need the funds to rebuild.

Whether you’re sitting in Melbourne or Sydney, Munich or San Francisco and you’re watching the news asking how you can help. This is it. From one dollar to a thousand we need your generosity to hold on to the hope our community has instilled in us through this disaster. It is still not over, but when it is, people having access to relief will be paramount to healing and rebuilding.

P.S - my name is Tom and our house on Henkes Lane was lost last night along with hundreds of others. These funds will be used in three ways and stages;

1 - Immediate relief to members of the community in the form of water, food, clothing, bedding, temporary shelter.

2 - Funding for farmers, who have lost stock and feed, to bring in hay and water to help them save what’s left and start recovering. As well as help them de-stock what has survived and rehabilitate pastures.

3 - Funding for community organisations who know what is needed and where it is needed better than anyone else. Including but not limited to the CFA, Alexandra Community Hub, Yarck CWA, Rotary etc
