Louisiana Trans Advocates and the Real Name Campaign have partnered together to create the Louisiana Trans Name Change Fund. Lack of affirming documentation is a systematic barrier that affects the day-to-day lives of all trans people, from applying to jobs to going out with friends. Any situation where someone's name isn't represented accurately on their ID or other documents can put a target on the back of folks that are simply existing. With the average cost of a name change being roughly $500 and requiring the undertaking of a daunting legal system, a larger number of trans people are unable to access this crucial service. Your donation will go directly to supporting the work at LTNCF and our small team of volunteers and navigators. We prioritize BIPOC applicants, disabled applicants, and folks experiencing homelessness.
