My name is Preston Kanter. I am working on a community service project for school and for the community. I call it “The Feel Good Project.” I see homelessness in Lodi as a social problem. I’m sure most people have seen or heard of the tent camp that was on Turner Road by Highway 99 or have seen people by the homeless shelter.
I plan to put together as many hygiene bags for the homeless as possible. I have coordinated with the Salvation Army on Sacramento Street in Lodi to pass out these bags on shower days. I hope my idea will help people clean up and feel more confident for job interviews targeting those who WANT to get help. I know this won’t solve all their problems but will help boost their self-esteem.
These Bags will include items like:
Clean new T-shirts & underwear
Toothbrush & Toothpaste
Shampoo & Conditioner
Soap & holder
Laundry detergent
Razors & Shaving Cream
Sunscreen
Chapstick
Nail Clippers
Hairbrush
Feminine Hygiene Products
If you want to donate any of these items directly feel free to do so. You can message me on Instagram to get my address and drop off anything. Also, if you would like to donate, please take note that we still have more than enough toothbrushes and toothpaste.
