Who You Are Funding: Our Revolutionary Ensembles

1. Extra Ancestral (Founded 2017 by Kahlil Cummings)

Extra Ancestral is a cultural movement dedicated to educating and entertaining through the fusion of different cultural manifestations of the African Diaspora.

• Ancestral Healing: We use powerful ancestral dancing and drumming of Diaspora genres to find connection and provide lessons from the past, aiming to reduce trans generational trauma and teach tools for Black survival.

• Living Lineage: Funds support revolutionary performances and weekly classes led by Cultural Master Teachers, preserving the direct transmission of culture.

2. Bloco Obini (All-Queens Drum Ensemble)

Bloco Obini is an all-Queens ensemble representing the empowerment of women and an entire generation.

• Community Empowerment: We use Afro-Brazilian bloco style drumming to heal, educate, uplift, and serve.

• Drum Medicine for Community: We provide vital drum medicine workshops.
