I am creating this GoFundMe to help Dakota and Ruth Lee with the tragic passing of their newborn baby, Hendrix.

The Lee family will be facing an immense amount of medical bills related to Ruth's emergency surgery to save her life, Hendrix's NICU bills, funeral costs, and funds to support them as they take time to themselves to heal.

"Our hearts are both full and broken as we share the arrival and passing of our precious son, Hendrix Louis Lee.

Hendrix came into the world on August 8th, at 38 weeks exactly. I went into intense labor unexpectedly, and just twenty minutes after arriving at the hospital, my placenta ruptured entirely. I lost a significant amount of blood, and we were rushed into an emergency C-section. I was placed under general anesthesia. Our strong, beautiful boy was life-flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital while I remained at our original hospital.

Hendrix fought with everything he had, and the NICU team cared for him with such skill, tenderness, and love. We are deeply grateful for every single medical professional who poured their hearts into trying to save him.

Despite his incredible fight, our sweet boy passed away on August 10th. Our hearts are shattered that we didn’t get more time together, but we are also endlessly proud that Hendrix is ours forever. We know, without a doubt, that he fought as hard as he possibly could to stay with us.

There are no words that can truly capture our grief, but we humbly ask that you keep our family in your prayers as we learn to carry this new chapter of love, loss, and longing.
