Hello there, my name is Tessa, and I am a mother of three kids ages 10, 8, and 7.

Over three years ago I made the difficult decision to leave an abusive marriage - for my safety and for the well being of my children. Since then, I have been in an ongoing custody process to protect their stability and ensure their voices and needs are truly heard and seen.

Despite everything my children's lives continue to be shaped by a system that has not fully recognized their needs or what they have experienced. Key decisions have relied on a Guardian ad Litem whose involvement, unfortunately, did not reflect the level of care this situation requires.

Currently, the custody arrangement does not reflect what I believe is in the best interest of my children, and I am actively working to change that through the legal process.

Over the last three years, with the help of my family, I have spent more than $30,000 in legal fees to keep showing up, advocating, and fighting for these kids.

Now, as we approach mediation and a possible trial, I have reached a point where I can no longer continue without support.

I am asking for help to cover ongoing legal fees such as retainer fees, mediation, a possible trial, and see this process through so I can remain a stable and consistent presence in my children's lives.
