Hi everyone! My name is Sydney and I am a rising senior at Ole Miss with a passion for global health and plans to attend medical school. This December, I’ll be traveling to Ghana on a medical mission with Global Brigades, and I’m raising funds to help make it possible.

As you may know, I went on a similar brigade to Belize last December, where my team set up clinics and worked alongside doctors, dentists, and pharmacists to provide care in underserved communities. It was a life-changing experience, and it really confirmed that healthcare is my calling.

Going to Africa on a mission has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. In Ghana, we’ll be providing basic healthcare, medications, and health education to rural communities that have limited access to care. In Ghana, there is roughly 1 physician per 10,000 people, and 83% of the rural population has no access to safely managed sanitation facilities.

I’m fundraising to cover the cost of travel, supplies, and support for the people we’ll be serving. Every donation, share, or kind word helps me reach this goal and means more than I can say.
