My name is Evelyn, and this GoFundMe is for my friend Zack’s apartment. Zack has been struggling with a multitude of factors. They have been denied the proper medication for their bipolar disorder, have been hospitalized, and were laid off from their job because they sought treatment.

This GoFundMe is for more than just Zack and their home. In the past two years Zack has cultivated their apartment into a safe, community oriented space for neurodivergent LGBTQ+ youth and many friend groups who gather in the apartment. If they lose this space, that’s one less place where these vulnerable young people can be themselves.

This community-oriented space has created hope for the neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ youth who regularly gather at the apartment in downtown Roanoke. Without this apartment, these at-risk youth will not have a safe place to gather or even stay for days at a time when circumstances force them out of their homes. Additionally, this space is home to a pivotal member of the community, who provides unfaltering support to youth seeking refuge.
