Support Sacred Spaces at Game Conventions

Hi, I’m Rev. Derek W. White—better known in the tabletop community as The Geekpreacher. Since 2008, I’ve been showing up at gaming conventions across the U.S. to offer spiritual care, host inclusive gatherings, and help people reconnect faith and imagination in meaningful ways.

I’m here to lend a listening ear, a word of grace, or a moment of presence. I seek to bring to life a spiritual space that is inclusive to all. Whether leading interfaith services, counseling a grieving gamer, running a discipleship game, or simply sitting at a table and hearing someone’s story, I believe this is sacred work.

This summer, I’ll be at Origins Game Fair, thanks to the generous sponsorship of the East and West Ohio Conferences of the United Methodist Church. But beyond that, I fund nearly all of this ministry out of my own pocket—travel, food, housing, resources, giveaways, and materials for events and worship services.

I don’t draw a salary for this work. My income comes from small consulting gigs, speaking engagements, and occasional writing projects. That’s why I’m asking for your support.
