Our Mission
Why We Do What We Do
Pinnacle Peak & Southern Railroad is a 501 (C) 3 all volunteer organization in Adobe Mountain Desert Park, giving children and adults free train rides on a 15" gauge track. The focus is to bring joy, wonder, and the timeless experience of railroad history to our community. Children and adults are able to ride behind a small engine, in trolleys and gondolas. There is also a train museum at this site to expose all who attend, to view railroad memorabilia. Donations will provide the ability to maintain, repair, improve and expand our railroad facilities.
While the current locomotive is a 15" gauge gasoline powered engine, PP&SRR is also fundraising, not only for the track expansion, but also for the restoration of a Ben Hammer 4-4-0 "American" steam locomotive. The name "American" comes from the wheel arrangement of the locomotive.
We are currently expanding our 1/4 mile of operational trackage to a loop of almost a mile. This expansion is being done during our "off" season. We normally run between October and April, every Sunday between 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact. Even just a few dollars can help move this mission forward and reach those who need it most.
If you can’t donate right now, sharing this fundraiser is also incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. It means the world to us!
Thank YOU!
