My name is Marielys. I am 39 years old, a single Venezuelan mother who has been living in Pennsylvania for three and a half years. I have two beautiful children whom I love with all my heart: Ethan (9) and Joachim (3).

In 2016, I made the decision to immigrate to the United States, fleeing the murderous regime of Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro. I was able to enter the United States legally and later submitted my asylum case to USCIS within the required timeframe.

Two weeks ago, I received a letter from USCIS informing me that a deportation process has been initiated against me because the evidence I presented for asylum was not considered sufficient. As a result, my case has been referred to an Immigration Judge, and I have been given a court date in February 2026.

Unfortunately, I do not have the financial resources to afford an attorney. I work full-time at a daycare center and also give private English lessons to cover utility expenses. All my family lives in Texas. Sadly, I cannot leave Pennsylvania because I share custody of my youngest child with his father, and I will never abandon either of my children.

Today, I humbly ask for your support. No matter the amount, I kindly ask from the bottom of my heart that you help me cover the cost of an attorney who can defend me legally in court so that I do not lose my children. They are my life, my strength, and my motivation to keep moving forward.

Mi nombre es Marielys. Tengo 39 años, soy madre soltera venezolana y he estado viviendo en Pensilvania durante tres años y medio. Tengo dos hermosos hijos a quienes amo con todo mi corazón: Ethan (9) y Joachim (3).

En el año 2016 tomé la decisión de inmigrar a los Estados Unidos, huyendo del régimen asesino del presidente de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro. Pude ingresar legalmente a los Estados Unidos y posteriormente presenté mi caso de asilo ante USCIS dentro del plazo requerido.

Hace dos semanas recibí una carta de USCIS informándome que se ha iniciado un proceso de deportación en mi contra porque las pruebas que presenté para el asilo no fueron consideradas suficientes. Como resultado, mi caso fue remitido a un juez de inmigración, y me asignaron una fecha de corte para febrero del 2026.

Lamentablemente, no cuento con los recursos económicos para pagar un abogado. Trabajo a tiempo completo en un centro de cuidado infantil y también doy clases privadas de inglés para cubrir los gastos básicos. Toda mi familia vive en Texas. Tristemente, no puedo mudarme de Pensilvania porque comparto la custodia de mi hijo menor con su padre, y jamás abandonaré a ninguno de mis hijos.

Hoy, humildemente les pido su apoyo. No importa la cantidad, les ruego de todo corazón que me ayuden a cubrir el costo de un abogado que pueda defenderme legalmente en la corte y así evitar perder a mis hijos. Ellos son mi vida, mi fortaleza y mi motivación para seguir adelante.
