At 33 weeks pregnant, I am facing an urgent and unexpected transition. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have to completely restructure my postpartum support, recovery, and housing plans at a vital moment as I prepare to welcome my baby.

As a Black woman facing my own adversities, I have spent years as an artist, activist, and cultural worker building community and creating support and visibility for the BIPOC community in and around Seattle. Right now, I am the one asking for that support as I navigate this major change during pregnancy and try to create stability for myself and my baby.

Funds will help cover:

• Birth expenses not covered by insurance
• Medical recovery after childbirth, including supplies needed to heal from major surgery
• Postpartum care, including meals, medications, supplies, and other essentials
• Baby essentials such as a crib, feeding supplies, diapers, and other basics
• Moving and housing expenses
