Sharing with you an update on our Maya Mission of Love works

Sharing with you an update on our Maya Mission of Love workshop / school that our priceless volunteers are building. Our building is half way done and the Maya volunteers just had to make an electric pole so that the electric company could place electricity into our newly constructed building. Oh June 16, our Mission of Love volunteers will arrive and meet sixteen Maya construction workers on site to create our roof of cement. This Maya construction of the roof has to be done in one day. Our GoFundMe link is https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-kathleens-school-for-maya-women

May 15, 2025 Subject: Support for a Community Education Project in Kankabzonot, Yucatán Dear Kathleen Price Director and founder of Mission of Love I hope this message finds you well. My name is Silvia Aracely Poot Pérez, and I am proud of my Mayan heritage, rooted deeply in the traditions and lineage of my ancestors. For the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of teaching English in private institutions, fully aware of the vital role this language plays in many professional and social contexts in our country. Through divine providence, I had the blessing of meeting Ms. Kathleen Price, General Director of Mission of Love. From the very beginning, I felt a deep connection with her and her inspiring life project. I joined her volunteer team, united by our shared commitment to serve those most in need. As a woman of indigenous Mayan origin, I have made it my mission to give back to my community by sharing my time and knowledge. I currently teach English to my fellow Mayan brothers and sisters—a skill that is especially valuable in tourist regions like Chichén Itzá, where opportunities often depend on language proficiency. Thanks to the support of the Mission of Love Foundation, we are building a workshop-school near this iconic site. This center is being created for vulnerable women and individuals from low-income backgrounds. It aims to promote self-sufficiency through programs such as English language instruction, traditional hammock weaving, and other community-based skills. In support of this dream, I have made a firm personal commitment by donating a portion of my land, along with my time and teaching experience, to help bring this vision to life. The construction of the workshop-school is currently 50% complete. Today, I humbly reach out to request financial support to help us complete this meaningful project, which is transforming from a dream into a beautiful reality. Thank you sincerely for the support you have already extended. I remain at your service and would be happy to provide any additional information you may need. Warm regards, Silvia Aracely Poot Pérez
