Support Haley and Her Children Through Health Crisis

Haley is my best friend's big sister. Since middle school, she has felt like my sister as well. While she is hesitant to ask for help for her situation, I am not. Haley has been a fighter her whole life. From being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes from a young age, being a single mother to two young children, one of whom has extreme autism and must be fed through a feeding tube, and one baby who is too young to be without his momma, to being diagnosed with stage 5 kidney disease and heart failure all in her twenties. Haley had to quit her job a year and three months ago because she has to spend so much time doing dialysis or being in the hospital. She lives in constant fear of having a heart attack, going into DKA, or her oxygen levels dropping.

What she really needs more than anything is a kidney, but until Haley can stay out of the hospital for a significant amount of time, she won’t be able to be put back on the transplant list.

My knowledge on a lot of the medical aspects is limited, but what I do know is that Haley’s blood type is O+ if you would want to donate or see if you are a match. Anyone who is 0+ O - can be a match. They also have a kidney exchange program where two people could potentially get a kidney.

I know I can’t be the only person who knows about Haley’s situation and would love to help in any way possible and aren’t quite sure how. Seeing as Haley hasn’t been able to work in a while due to her health, money is tight. We never know how long we will have with the people we love. I would love to make whatever time Haley has until she can get a kidney, a little bit easier for her and her two sweet boys.
