Hi everyone, I am asking for help for someone very close to my heart. As moms, we know how unfair this society is in expecting us to just figure it out on our own, but it always ends up feeling like we don’t have another choice. Things like this group are a rebellion against that mentality, but we all know it can't reach the depths in which we need it, and it can feel suffocatingly lonely out there.

The person I am specifically referencing has four kids, was left by her husband, has no support from him or anyone else because her immediate family lives in another country and doesn’t have the means to help. If she sues him for child support, he will be deported. Her eldest is 13 and her youngest is 2. She can’t afford daycare right now and has to pick up her 5-year-old twins at 1:45 pm every day, and we all know how fast 3 pm pick-up comes; imagine 1:45.

I am creating this gofundme for her to help her find some relief for this month and the next so she can work a solid two months and be able to find a babysitter who drives and can help with the afternoon pick-ups so she can finish her workday in order to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. If anyone knows of a sitter who drives, speaks Spanish, and would be available for five hours a day every afternoon from 1:45-6:45, that doesn’t charge too much (of course a livable wage), but is trustworthy, and they could help each other, please let me know. Or if anyone is in the market for life insurance, she is a nationally licensed life insurance broker and swim instructor (she was a professional synchronized swimmer, so she knows how to push herself toward excellence and has been an instructor for many years).

I firmly believe that mothers especially can change the world. We already do with the way we are raising our children, but if we could begin to extend that in finding ways to support one another rather than getting the same services somewhere else; look how many lives that touches in just one sitting. She, like many of us, is faced with the choice to put food on the table and deal with the guilt of not being present with her children in a time where they need her so much, because you can imagine the effect all of this is having on them, but simultaneously feeling she has no other choice. Please help me support her by donating. She is a good woman who does honest work and just wants to find a way to help herself and her children thrive in this difficult situation.
