Hi, my name is Statia. I'm a single mother with a child of special needs. I have always worked hard to try to get ahead in life. I put myself through college and have worked most of my life. I've been through some tough medical issues that have made it hard to continue working, and waiting on disability can take years.

First, I had my L4-S1 fused in my lower back, nerve damage in both legs, and now my knees are suffering as well. I had a scoping done recently, but I'm afraid that my knee was so far damaged it may need replacing soon. I'm not sure how long I will continue to go without work and if and when I'll need more surgeries for my knees or back.

My daughter and I are asking for help. It's not something we like to do, and we usually help those who need it, but with little assurance of when I'll be able to go back to work, we need as much help as possible. Those of you who know me, know that this has been a long battle, and I refuse to give up. With your help, I can keep paying my bills and taking care of my daughter.
