Hi, my name is Josh and I’m the school chaplain at Heritage College. I’m writing this on behalf of one of our incredible students and their family, who are currently facing a really tough time.
Over the past 12 months, one of our beloved year 9 students, Anthony Castillo, has been bravely fighting a rare and aggressive cancer. Despite undergoing extensive treatment, there has sadly been little improvement in his condition. His Oncologists have decided there are no more treatment options available.
As a school community, we want to stand beside Anthony and his family during this heartbreaking time. His mum has had to step away from work to care for him full-time, and the financial pressures they are facing are significant.
We are raising funds to help ease the day-to-day living costs for the family, provide Anthony with opportunities to enjoy special moments and experiences with his family and plan for the road ahead.
Any contribution, no matter how big or small, will go directly to supporting this courageous young person and the people who love him most.
In the midst of deep sadness, we cling to hope, love, and faith. As it says in Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
We continue to trust in God’s presence and strength during this season, and we ask that you join us in prayer and generosity as we support this special young man and his family with love and dignity.
Thank you for your kindness.
