On October 9, 2025, Maggie’s husband was detained by ICE. He is the heart of their home. His detention happened without warning, leaving her and their three children ages 14, 10, and 3 facing fear, uncertainty, and financial strain, a reality many families in Oceanside know too well.

For years, she has helped local families find the resources they need so their children can succeed in school. She volunteers in neighborhood patrols, speaks at public meetings, and organizes when neighbors need support. Many have witnessed her care, determination, and growth as a community leader.

Her husband is known for being funny, caring, and hardworking. He always puts others first, whether they are family, friends, or someone he has just met. Together they have built a life grounded in love, faith, and community.

He was always there to support them in every way, whether in their education, sports, or spiritual life. He has always supported me with my dreams and goals. We never imagined this would happen to our family. It is very hard to look your children in the eyes and see how much they are hurting inside. “Estos momentos han sido muy difíciles para mí y para mis hijos. Mi esposo significa el mundo para mis hijos y para mí. Nunca imaginamos que esto podría pasarnos como familia. Es muy difícil mirar a tus hijos a los ojos y ver cuánto están sufriendo por dentro. Más que nunca seguiré ayudando a mi comunidad porque ahora sé lo que se siente tener a tu familia separada.
