Hi, my name is Karie Cole and I am the president of Branch 586. As many of you know on January 21, 2022, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 586 Hepworth was destroyed by an early morning fire. It was a complete loss with nothing salvageable. This is a devastating loss for our community. The Legion has always been there to support our Veteran’s and families in anyway possible and to remember our men and women who served our country. The legion has been a place of celebration for many many years for our local families as they have celebrated the milestones in their lives. We have hosted bingo’s, music events, wedding receptions, dinners, shuffleboard, darts, jam sessions and many other events. We are involved with our local schools and minor sports. Most Saturday afternoons you would find our club room filled with dancers of all ages enjoying comradeship. We don’t want that to end and we are rebuilding as soon as possible. We have insurance but as you well know it only goes so far and we are asking for our community to pitch in and help us out. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
