Aloha, this is Nicole, of Maui Rapid Response. We were asked to support this ohana with their storm response. Below is a message from the Lahr ohana:
We survived the fires, barely. We thought the hardest part was behind us. Then the storms came and damaged our roof and siding . It flooded inside the first floor and the third floor of the house. We must replace the a lot of things before we do any work inside the house. Mold and algae are spreading through the house while we wait.
The storm also completely destroyed our 9000sq foot workshop which was our main source of income. Everything in it has to go. Malama Kula is helping us with dumpsters and we are so grateful (see them dumping off a dumpster here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWiIttvjIqy/?igsh=MTBwbXZnNXVydGg5NQ==) but the repair costs are more than we can handle.
We have been part of this community for a long time. We don't ask for help. But I'm asking now.
Funds go directly to repair and damange and even with a discount it's beyond what we can afford. That's what stands between us and a home we can heal in. Please give if you can. Please share if you can't.
