Hi, I am in need of generosity in a trying time. I was driving home from work when a deer ran out of the woods next to the road and hit my car. I ended up with whiplash and vertebrae injuries. I didn’t think this would happen, because the car was running fine after, but the body shop wrote up a huge labor cost, so the insurance company totaled my car. I fought that decision, and they gave me an extra $300, and still left me with no car, and a tiny check that comes nowhere near a down payment on even a used car that will last a few years.

As a single mother living in a rural area already working two jobs, I’ve tried to get by after the accident. I had to stop working one job for a month due to the injuries, meaning I got no paycheck and had to pay to keep the family’s health insurance. Even though I had medical coverage, the insurance is fighting my injuries, so right now I am paying out of pocket for the injury healthcare, and I have an over $5,000 deductible. And not having a car is truly difficult in the area we live in; the cost of ride shares and rentals adds up to what a monthly car payment may be.
