The Toledo Lighthouse needs funding for a dock and a lift.
The total project cost is $70,000. The nonprofit Toledo Lighthouse organization has raised $40,000 of the $70,000 needed for the dock and lift to be installed in July of 2026.
Weather permitting, public tours of the lighthouse will be offered during the Toledo Lighthouse Festival September 12 and 13 at Maumee Bay State Park.
If you donate for the dock and lift, you will be on a list for donor tours before the festival (there will be a charge for the boat to and from).
The Toledo Lighthouse is located about five miles offshore on a crib, it is four thousand square feet with three stories in the main building, a cellar, an annex, and a two-story tower with an amazing view.
New windows and shutters have been installed on the first and second floors along with other improvements totaling $1 million.
Additional funding is needed to finish the restoration.
Getting safe access to the lighthouse via the dock and lift along with reinstalling the ramp to the platform to go on the deck of the lighthouse is important to promote, educate and restore this incredible lighthouse!
