The Play for a Purpose Mini Sticks Tournament is a student-led fundraiser created by the Englert Family and the Kids Lacrosse Committee at Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School.

On December 11th, 2025, students will come together to play mini sticks, build community, and raise money for an organization that is changing lives across Uganda: Kids Lacrosse Africa (KLA).

KLA uses the sport of lacrosse to open doors to education, mentorship, leadership development, and community for more than 300 children in Uganda — with over 20 full scholarships provided each year, partnerships with seven schools, and programs that offer meals, coaching, and safe spaces for kids to learn and grow.

In 2026, KLA will expand into the underserved regions of Adjumani and Palisa, launch a Coaches Leadership Academy, and provide even more scholarships and community programs — all of which requires support.

All proceeds from this Mini Sticks Tournament will go directly to Kids Lacrosse Africa.
