The closing of our home, the Democracy Center, has left Papercut without many of the resources we've used to keep our collection and community going.

We're currently operating entirely remotely as we've lost our space at the DC.

Papercut Zine Library is a volunteer-run library with a collection of 16,000+ zines & independent media.

Throughout our 19-year-long history, we've worked hard to be a supportive, radical, care-filled leader in the Boston DIY scene, working on a variety of community outreach projects from workshops on harm reduction to zine-making at public and academic libraries! We host skill-shares and community events and are constantly growing our collection with zine submissions from the greater Boston community and beyond.

We're a free library because we believe in the accessible, barrier-less ethos of zine-making and sharing. Because we don't charge anything to engage in our programming, we're looking to our community to help us stay afloat in this moment of instability.

As stewards of such a large collection that runs purely on the labor of love of volunteers with no financial assistance, it has been a challenge, but an honor, to keep our doors open for the community. Your contribution would be much overdue assistance for a group of zine lovers who are always trying to keep programming free for the community.

Zines can be many things, including but not limited to: a ticket out of isolation, a way to process, a simultaneous reflection of both one’s uniqueness and universality, a call to action (i.e., Girls’ Skate Day), aesthetic/eye candy, or informative literature. We believe so much in the importance of a space like ours in Boston, and hope you'll help us by donating to keep our community active for many years to come.
