Feed a Cambodian Village
We want to provide groceries for the elders of this Cambodian village — to make sure they are fed for a whole year.
A campaign by Art of Kindness — Granny Thuy Charity Fund
What It’s About
In a quiet village in rural Cambodia, grandmas and grandpas live simple lives — some alone, some raising grandchildren, others quietly growing older in peace.
They’re not asking for help.
But often, at their age, they’re forgotten.
That’s where our journey begins.
To honor them, I do what I do best:
I draw them, one by one, and share their stories. Each portrait becomes a gentle reminder to slow down, to care, and to remember those who came before us.
This campaign isn’t about rescuing anyone.
It’s about joy. Dignity. Human connection.
It’s about bringing moments of love, beauty, and belonging —
because every elder deserves to feel seen and cherished.
How It Works
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing short Reels and Stories as I visit the elders, sketch them, and talk about life, love, and memories.
Their portraits become a bridge — between you, wherever you are,
and them, here — where even a small gesture brings light into someone’s day.
✨ And it all begins with one magical event:
August 24th — Granny Gatherings.
A long table under the trees. Steaming rice, curry, fruit, music, laughter, hugs. A celebration of soul, resilience, and shared humanity.
The Goal: Feed This Village for a Year
Every month, we will gift each of them a lovingly prepared “Care Basket” with:
- 10 kg rice
- Salt, sugar
- Soy & fish sauce
- 5 kg vegetables
- 30 eggs
- Cookies
- Soap & other essentials
- Buddhist gift
- Medicine when needed
We also provide companionship and regular visits through our local team.
Here, they don’t just eat. They talk, laugh, remember — and belong.
Cost per elder: €67/month
❤️ Total campaign goal: €24,400 = A full year of support for 30 elders + dinner
Who We Are
Hi, I’m Samalia Swan — artist, storyteller, and founder of the Art of Kindness — Granny Thuy Charity Fund, a nonprofit (ASBL) registered in Luxembourg.
We named our foundation after a remarkable woman I once drew — Grandma Thuy — whose warmth and dignity live on in every meal we serve.
For Donors & Supporters
We’ll share:
• Portraits and stories from elders
• Short videos from the gatherings
• Behind-the-scenes of meals, drawings, and moments
• Financial reports
✨ Everything is shared with honesty, beauty, and soul.
How You Can Help
• Sponsor a dinner
• Adopt a grandparent
• Make a one-time donation
• Or simply share this campaign with a friend
Even €5 can bring food and comfort to someone forgotten.
Together, we can turn portraits into meals and memories into hope.
With all my love,
from the village — and from me,
Samalia
