Following a recent public meeting held in The Village Hall, you may now be aware of the proposed auction of a seven-acre field lying between Norton and Lenchwick.

If this takes place, then there is a distinct possibility that some outside speculators may consider it a good investment, with the hope of value in mind that significant residential development could be obtained sometime in the future.

It is the view of many residents who were at the meeting that here we have a significant and once in a lifetime opportunity for The Parish to purchase this land.

Objectives: to purchase the land and incorporate it within the trust for the benefit of The Parish in perpetuity.

Plan of Campaign: The issue is simple; the objectives are crystal clear but sadly the road could be blocked without sufficient funds being raised from The Parish Households. If we can raise a minimum of £50,000 from our own resources, then there is a distinct possibility that with the addition of outside loans a purchase can be made.

Conclusion: This is a funding request to all residents of The Parish asking everyone to participate by making a contribution of financial support. We have already received some very generous donations of between £25 - £5,000
