Hi, my name is Ellie Turner. I am currently in year 10 at Weobley High School. Studying for my GCSES and hope to go to study forensic science.

We have been given and amazing once in a a lifetime opportunity to take part in an expedition to Ecuador. The expedition will be organized by Camps International but run via Weobley High School.

The expedition will take 28 days during which time we will be carrying out volunteer work helping local communities in rebuilding schools and repairing damaged and deforested areas.

After the volunteer work we will embark on probably one of the biggest challenges i will encounter in my life. A 5 day trek through Cotopaxi national park. Through rainforest to and over the mountains.

This trip is happening in summer 2027 so will be after my GCSES. It will be at the time I am thinking of college and university. The experience of the expedition and the confidence it will give me will greatly help in my applications and consequently will give me a huge boost to succeed in my dream of becoming a forensic scientist.

The opportunity the expedition brings to both explore a greatly diverse country and help the local communities means a huge amount to me. I want to be able to see and help whatever and whoever i can but unfortunately the trip is not cheap. So to be able to go on the expedition i will need to raise funds through sponsorship and a programme of fundraising activities. so any donations no matter how small would be greatly appreciated and would be bring me one step closer to Ecuador.
