Hi, my name is Keely and I am creating this GoFund me to raise funds for my nephew Mitchell and his mum, my sister, Leighah.

Mitchell is a 17 year old first year carpenter apprentice by day and by night he works at a local burger joint. He loves 4WD and hanging with his mates and he’s very family oriented. Mitchell lights up his younger siblings and cousins faces whenever they see him and he’s always one who is happy to put his hand up to help with his cousins and siblings. He prioritises his family and is full of life.

On August 2nd 2026, our families lives were changed in a split second. Whilst out on a rural property with friends a serious freak accident occurred and has left Mitchell with serious injuries, including severe head trauma, he has bleeding around the brain as well as air around the brain which is causing vision and hearing impairment, he has multiple skull and facial fractures, fractures to the ear canals with exposed bone to name some of his injuries.

Mitchell was flown to Royal Perth Hospital State Trauma Unit via RFDS in the evening of August 2nd. Mitchell is currently in a stable but serious condition.

Mitchell’s mum, Leighah, is a nurse who works locally and she is a mother of 4 other children. Leighah is currently unable to work as she is in Perth by Mitchell’s side and will be unable to work until he is recovered and not needing the support he does now. At this stage the family are unsure how many surgeries he may or may not need.

Mitchell has long road to recovery, with many things still unknown at this stage. The aim of this GoFund me is to cover Mitchell’s expenses that he has, now that he is unable to work, as well as helping to cover Leighah’s loss of income so that she can stay by his side through this process.
