My grandmother has always been one of the kindest souls I’ve ever known — thoughtful, grounded, wise, and a light wherever she goes. She’s the person who taught me that life is about showing up for others, listening deeply, and choosing love in every moment. Whenever I think about what truly matters, I think of her.
When she was in her 70's she was diagnosed with dementia and in her name, this Thanksgiving season, I’m taking on the Miles That Matter Challenge with the Alzheimer’s Association. For 10 days, I’ll walk, run, or move one mile each day as a way to honor the millions of families impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Each mile is a reminder to slow down, stay present, and carry forward the values my grandmother has always embodied.
The Alzheimer’s Association is leading the fight to end Alzheimer’s by driving research, advancing early detection, and ensuring quality care and support for families everywhere. Their mission represents hope — not just for the future, but for every family navigating the challenges of today.
I hope you’ll join me by donating or cheering me on. Together, we can make every mile count and move closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.
