Protect Edgware. Demand the Right Investment.
Barnet has approved a scheme that will rip the heart out of Edgware — ignoring over 7,000 objections. But the fight is not over.
This plan is now heading to the Greater London Authority, where we still have a real chance to change the outcome. With the right legal advice and expert support, we can expose its flaws and press for a better future for our town.
What’s at risk:
Parking cut from 1,235 spaces to just 292 (only 42 for general use)
The safe, covered bus station scrapped for exposed stops on Station Road
The Broadwalk Mall demolished and replaced with shops under tower blocks
An experimental underground electric bus garage built beneath housing, despite London Fire Brigade warnings it risks collapse
What we want instead:
Investment that respects Edgware’s suburban character
Safe, accessible transport with proper parking and a sheltered bus station
A town centre shaped around community needs, not developer profits
We urgently need to raise £10,000 in initial costs for legal advice and campaign expenses, so we are ready to act fast at the GLA stage and beyond. Including the option of a Judicial Review ( which could cost over £50,000)
The community has come this far together — and with your support we can keep going.
Donate today to protect Edgware — and demand investment on our terms.
(Any surplus will go to the Edgware Community Association.)
