I've been shopping at the Menlo Park Farmer's Market for at least 25 years. The highlight each week is to get some farmer's wisdom from Matt. He always has the best onions, asparagus, garlic, spinach, arugula, and so much more.

Out of nowhere, Matt was told he would need to vacate his home and the land he's been farming for over a decade. He had an agreement with the family patriarch that owned his house and land. When he passed away, the family told Matt he had to leave. With nowhere to live and crops in the ground, Matt is fighting for both his livelihood and a place to live.

Starting over is brutally hard and expensive. Matt won't give up; he just needs some help from the community he has been nourishing with his bounty for decades. Farming is tough, and along with our first responders, small local farmers who provide fresh, safe, and healthy food for our tables are true heroes.
