Hey Neighbour!
Welcome to the Path of Positivity! - a 100% volunteer and 100% community funded project.
Come see the path in person!
We've painted over 50 out of 75 panels and 35 murals!!
Thank you to everyone who has donated to get us this far :) Although
we have reached our target this amount is only a guide to cover our next paint order. We will still need additional funds to clean the path up and make it more beautiful.
We thought we might be finished by the end of September but unfortunately holidays, work, rain and sickness have delayed us. Currently, we are trying to paint as long as we can but we are estimating that we may only have till the end of October before the temperature is too cold for the paint to stick and the rain begins but fingers crossed! No matter what we will be finishing painting the entire path - 75 panels come spring/summer of next year.
I’m Colleen, former Deputy Mayor and Marlovian, who started this project in collaboration with Marlow Football Club to support young people's mental health.
We need donations from kind people like you who love what we're doing so we can continue spreading positive vibes to each and everyone of us!
Pls follow us on Instagram @the_path_of_positivity - 'love' some photos, give us some words of encouragement, or send us a DM.
Why This Project Matters
- 50% increase in the last three years of young people having a mental health problem (childrensociety.org.uk)
- 5 children in a classroom of 30 are likely to have a mental health problem (childrensociety.org.uk)
Location
This neglected 150m long urban footpath runs alongside Marlow Football Club and connects Oak Tree Road and Trinity Court.
The Project
The Path of Positivity started as an idea to support young people’s mental health; to give students a confidence boost or new perspective on their way to and from school by turning a dull wall into vibrant student artwork and uplifting messages. This footpath connects residents and students from five of our seven local schools, making it a key community space.
What We've Done So Far
We must complete the murals to the end - we can't let our students and schools down! Help us spread good vibes and inspire young people.

How Murals Help
- Murals have proven to be therapeutic, fostering mental wellbeing (mintandmabel.com)
- Studies have shown exposure to vibrant colours triggers the release of dopamine, promoting a sense of happiness and relaxation (mintandmabel.com)
The Ask
We need primer, paint, UV/Anti-graffiti sealant, and supplies - we are covering 300 square metres of wall!! We are using specialty outdoor concrete primer, paint for murals and sealant that will last for 20 years.
Business or Organisation Sponsorship
£250+ name/logo on our sponsor wall (5 REMAINING)
Thanks to: Marlow Cheese, Crystal Hearing, Marlow Round Table, Marlow Living Streets, The Britannia
New sponsors you have until February . . . but once we're almost finished there could be a rush to show the town your support of a great cause for the next 20+ years!
We would love to get other family friendly Marlow businesses on the wall to increase our ties to the community. If you know someone who works at Amorino, Everyman or Britannia please let them know about our wonderful project and their opportunity to be part of it.
£1300+ 2m x 2m mural w/short message + name/logo ( 0 LEFT)
Thanks to 4Front Security and Solarbility!!
Together, we can make The Path of Positivity a reality!
Any funds raised over the target amount will go towards Phase II, any funds left after the total project completion will be saved for future POP maintenance and supplies for upkeep.
Phase I - the wall
Primer, anti-graffiti coating, mural paint, supplies
Phase II - making it more beautiful, useful and safer
We need to plant something in front of the wall that is low growing to reduce the mud splashing onto the wall when it rains and make it look tidier and prettier.
We are looking at rota tilling the soil to remove some of the surface weeds, ged rid of pine needles covering the ground and prepare the soil for planting and grass seed.
Plants £TBD - open to recommendations for flowering shade loving low maintenance, low growing (15cm high) perennials
Rough cost for this is coming in at £4500 for just plants
We are interested in placing LED solar powered lights every so often at the top of the wall to create some light at night so walkers, especially women and girls, feel safer. If you have any suggestions please let us know.
Every donation, big or small, brings us closer.
Please donate and start spreading good vibes :)
