On the 18th July me and the boys are cycling from London to Paris, it’s a 200 mile cycle and we’re attempting to do it in 24 hours start to finish…
We are raising money for Cancer Research UK. Statistically 1 in 2 people will get Cancer, recently that 1 in 2 was someone very close to our hearts and a huge part of my life.
Already we know numerous people to have been effected, some that have had positive outcomes and some that haven’t. Although treatment and research continues to grow everyday there’s still a long way to go.
None of us are particularly keen cyclists, or cyclists at all, this will be our first (and maybe last) cycle of this distance. Starting in London cycling Newhaven for the first 60ish miles, we then get a ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe arriving at 4am for the second leg cycling just over 110 miles. The longest break we have is the 4 hour ferry, other than that we will only be stopping to eat and drink.
We’ll be doing a few fundraisers prior to the cycle to help fluff up the final figure, I know times are hard but any donation however small is greatly appreciated.
Cancer Research UK relies on the generosity of the public to fund its life-saving research and it needs support more now than ever, they fund scientists, doctors and nurses to work towards prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Funding supports something as big as a new research centre down to the small glass slides that are used to analyse cancer cells.
