I don’t really know where to start to be honest, I’ve never done this before, but here goes.
I will be running the Brighton Marathon in April 2026 to raise money for Cancer Research. Let me explain why.
On 01/01/2024 my mum thankfully fell down the stairs (don’t worry, I’m not an arsehole you’ll find out why I’m grateful).
As a result of her falling down the stairs she had a CT scan and they thought they located a cyst on her kidney. Fast forward a few months she was waiting for a specialist scan on the NHS but the wait was too long, so she had to go private.
Following on from going private she had her scan in July. The results came back in September to show she had cancer in her kidney.
Thankfully, she was booked in to have her surgery in November last year, which went great and she has been given the all clear.
Some people will never think that cancer will affect your family or even you. (I did) But this was reality check for me that cancer does not care how nice of person you are, it will affect the nicest of people who deserve everything.
Who would’ve thought that my mum falling down the stairs has most definitely saved her life.
This is the reason that I will be running for Cancer Research to try and raise any money I can for a great cause. Any donation would be appreciated ❤️
Want to join me in making a difference? I’m raising money to benefit Cancer Research UK, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
