Hi! We’re Lucy and Betty — two high schoolers and founders of Lemlem by L&B, a free virtual tutoring program for young Habesha students in Grades 1–5.
We started Lemlem after visiting Ethiopia in 2023 and witnessing the lack of access to basic educational resources. It broke our hearts — and inspired us to act.
This year we are raising funds we're hoping to specifically provide reusable menstrual products to young girls in Ethiopia who don't have consistent access to them. Even a few dollars helps, and we'd really appreciate any support or even just sharing the GoFundMe!
Now, we tutor students here in the U.S. twice a week on Zoom, while also raising funds to support educational efforts back in Ethiopia.
Your donation will help us:
- Keep our program free for all families
- Create better lesson materials and resources
- Support education initiatives in Ethiopia
- Train more volunteers and expand our reach
Even a small donation helps a student grow.
Lemlem means to bloom — and with your help, they will.
Thank you for believing in us
— Lucy & Betty
